Best Goals: Matchweek 22

If there was ever a week to return with another Goals post it’s this one. Week 22 was chock full of insane strikes, dramatic results, and broken records. I even included both Liverpool goals (you’re welcome, Sotak). Back in a big way, here are the top goals of the weekend. Plus a couple fantastic finishes from around the world, and a neat compilation of skill moves in silky slow motion from La Liga.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) vs. Stoke City (1-1)

Rooney sinks an unbelievable stoppage time free kick (90’+ 4’) to not only save a point but also pass Sir Bobby Charlton as Manchester United’s all-time club scoring leader with 250 goals.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) vs. Burnley (2-1)

Cool as a cucumber, the Chilean feathers in the winner (90’+7’) after Arsenal receive a penalty in the box.

Diego Costa (Chelsea)  vs. Hull City (1-0)

Costa receives a gift from Victor Moses and slots in his 15th goal of the season (45’+7’) to break the scoreless draw.

Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) vs. Swansea City (2-2)

The Brazilian forward settles the cross with his head and volleys his second past Fabianski (69’) to draw level.

Fernando Llorente (Swansea City) vs. Liverpool (2-0)

Llorente is on the receiving end of a perfect cross from new signing Tom Carroll (52’) to shock Liverpool at Anfield.

Son Heung-min (Tottenham) vs. Manchester City (2-2)

The chosen Son takes the sensational flick-on by Harry Kane to draw Spurs level (77’).

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City) vs. Liverpool (3-2)

Gylfi seals the Swans’ first victory ever at Anfield (74’) with a clinical finish in the box.

Dele Alli (Tottenham) vs. Manchester City (1-2)

No City player had a chance to stop Alli as he redirects Kyle Walker’s curling cross to halve Spurs’ two-goal deficit (57’).

Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) heads in his first vs. Swansea (1-2)

James Milner (Liverpool) finds Firmino in the box to break Liverpool’s drought (55′).

Around The World

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) vs. Athletic Bilbao [La Liga]

The Frenchman sinks the dreaded equalizer to save a point late (81’).

Lasse Schone (Ajax)  vs. Utrecht [Dutch Eredivisie]

Schone sends in an incredible volley off the bounce to win it(83’).

Never Forget: Dele Alli vs.Crystal Palace (2-1)

One year ago today, Dele score the goal of the year.

Bonus: Compilation of Skill from Spanish La Liga

Heart Warming Moment of the Week
