Hey, it’s time for another round of Friday music. Quality new releases usually slow to a trickle at the beginning of the year as producers and artists retreat into the studio to prepare material for the coming year. But the valve was opened a bit in the last couple days as we slide into February.
Foremost: A new self-titled hip-hop project by Bakery favorite Claude Vonstroke under his alias (and actual born name) Barclay Crenshaw with features from the likes of The Cool Kids, The Underachievers, and Mr. Carmack. He’ll be performing at U Street Feb 18th. Get your tickets and join yours truly in the grimiest basement.
Also we’ve been graced with a new release from French producer Tchami called Adieu, a Rezz x K?D collab, and a single from electronic duo Gladiator.
BREAKING NEWS: This is a first; I’ve included the first rock song I’ve actually enjoyed since like 2010. Brace by Bird of Tokyo. They’ve got that heavy-riff Muse sound. Rock is totally, completely, absolutely dead still. Don’t get it twisted.
Don’t forget Migos finally released Culture. Go listen to that perfect piece of Atlanta-ism. #RiseUp
