The Bakery Podcast Ep. 45: 2018 World Cup Recap

The best World Cup of our lifetime has just ended. We’re sad it’s gone but excited to rehash a month filled with amazing soccer that won’t soon be forgotten. We start with Sunday’s final in Moscow between France and Croatia and work our way backwards through the rest of the tournament touching on the best and worst performances by various teams, including France’s potential dynasty, Croatia’s swan song, Belgium and England showing out as well as Brazil, Argentina and of course Germany disappointing. We give our best player, goal and game of the tournament and cover some of the broad themes throughout the WC like VAR, own goals, extra time/penalty kicks and set pieces.

And at the tail end, if you stick around, you’ll get a brief eulogy from Dustin about his beloved Cristiano Ronaldo moving on to greener pastures in Serie A with his shocking transfer to Juventus.

We’re sad to see the World Cup go but we hope you enjoyed this amazing display for the past four weeks as much as we did.
